The Lahn-Camino is a section of the network of St. James pilgrimage routes in Germany. It was first established in 2001, covering a distance of approximately 140 km—primarily along the heights of the Lahn Valley—between the church square in Gießen and the hospital chapel in Oberlahnstein, on the initiative of the late Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kanz of Oberlahnstein and Franz-Josef Höflich (Honorary President of the St. James Society of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland), members of the Taunus Club, who marked the route with numerous signs and stickers featuring the stylized yellow scallop shell on a blue background. In the spring of 2026, with Giessen as the new starting point, the route was connected to the network of German St. James’ Ways via the Marburg–Frankfurt St. James’ Way.

Er führt entlang des idyllischen Lahntals durch Mittelgebirgslandschaften, historische Städte und kleine Pilgerorte, die oft mit beeindruckenden Kirchen und Klöstern aufwarten.
Dieser Weg ist Teil der deutschen Jakobswegstruktur und bietet Pilgerinnen und Pilgern eine spirituelle Erfahrung inmitten einer ruhigen und naturnahen Umgebung. Der Lahn-Camino ist besonders für Einsteiger geeignet, aber auch für erfahrene Pilger eine bereichernde Route – nicht zuletzt wegen der zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten entlang des Weges.
