From the island of Rügen to Stralsund, past masterpieces of Brick Gothic, through the Sternberg Lake District and to former monasteries – this is believed to be the pilgrimage route of Saint Birgitta in the year 1341.

Multi-day hike on the Via Jutlandica

The Jakobsweg is very nicely present here; in Hamburg, it is great to walk along the Elbe. Until we crossed to the southern side with the help of a ferry. Then it continues through the Alte Land on the dike by the Lühe. Suddenly Harsefeld is ahead, and in Hollenbeck, the Jutlandica meets the Baltica, and soon the Jakobsweg is in Zeven. We continue to walk on to Bremen, where St. Petri Cathedral stands before us, and we are surprised how quickly it went.

Find peace on the Way of St. James

Coastal route with almost continuous sea view from the Neustadt Hospital Church via the Baltic Sea resorts Pelzerhaken, Rettin, Grömitz to Cismar Monastery - a popular pilgrimage destination in the Middle Ages.

History(stories) of a landscape - Early on, as an unpaved sandy track, the Stapelholmer Weg gained great importance as a trade route.

This pilgrimage route corresponds to a partial stage of the Via Scandinavica, which in turn is part of the Way of St. James. While the official Way of St. James often runs along busy roads, this route goes through the scenic countryside.

From Rehna Monastery via Zarrentin at Schaalsee to Boizenburg/Elbe up to Lauenburg. Pilgrimage route through the Schaalsee biosphere reserve for experienced hikers.
