On the third day, you’ll walk one of the most beautiful stages of this Camino, far from urban asphalt and surrounded by lush forests of native species: oaks, beeches, chestnuts, and more. It’s an uphill stage, especially in the first part. As you leave Negreira, you’ll pass beneath the interesting Pazo de Cotón, a manor built in the 15th century along the old Royal Road, which still retains its defensive character. The day will end in one of those tiny villages that dot the Galician landscape: Santa Mariña, the perfect place to rest and regain your strength after this second stage of the Camino to Fisterra.

This second stage is considered one of the most beautiful on this route (and also the longest), far from urban asphalt and beneath the lush canopy of native trees: oaks, beeches, chestnuts, and more. It is an uphill stage, especially in the first section. Leaving Negreira, you will pass under the remarkable Pazo de Cotón, built in the 15th century on the Royal Way and still preserving its defensive appearance. After leaving the village of Santa Mariña, the first challenge is climbing Monte Aro, which offers stunning views over the banks of the A Fervenza reservoir. From there, you descend through the Xallas Valley until crossing Ponte Olveira and arriving at the village of Olveiroa — home to restored centuries-old hórreos (traditional grain stores).

Tappa molto dura per la distanza. Si consiglia di partire presto al mattino (soprattutto nella stagione calda). L’arrivo ad Olveiroa è emozionante, soprattutto per aver superato la distanza. La salita al monte è discretamente impegnativa.
