Jakobsweg from Aesch to Meltingen:We took the train to Aesch, and then walked up to the ruines of Pfeffingen castle, with views back over Basel. From there along a river, past a cliff with Swiss army murals dating from 1914, and on up the narrow valley with caves on either side with prehistoric finds dating back as far as 30000 years to the Neanderthals.
