A new stage on your Portuguese Way to Santiago begins as you leave O Porriño behind and quickly enter the municipality of Mos. The path crosses its small capital, passing the Church of Santa Eulalia and the Manor House of the Marquises of Mos, before starting the climb to Alto de Enxertade — a short but demanding ascent.
At the top, you'll find the Roman milestone of Vilar de Infesta, a remnant of the ancient Roman road XIX, which connected Braga and Astorga, now part of the Camino route.
From there, the trail descends directly into Redondela, a town within the Vigo metropolitan area, known for the massive railway viaducts that run between its houses, and a favorite stop for pilgrims to spend the night.
If you're lucky and your visit coincides with the Corpus Christi festival, you can enjoy the traditional Fiesta da Coca, a celebration dating back to the Middle Ages, with pre-Christian roots, featuring the mythical Galician creature — the Coca, a dragon- or serpent-like being said to dwell in rivers and seas.
