Pilgrim walks in Malans

The "Via Francisca" is also called the "Road of the Emperors." It leads from Konstanz over the Lukmanier to Pavia, where it meets the Via Francigena.

We leave the Principality, cross the St. Luzisteig and hike through the famous wine-growing region of Bündner Herrschaft with views of Bad Ragaz and Pfäfers.

In the year of the 400th anniversary of Fidelis' death (24.4.1622), we walk this path in 2 days. We start at the Capuchin monastery in Feldkirch and go through the Ried to Schaan and along the Rhine to Balzers, where we stay overnight at the Gutenberg house. On the second day, the path leads over the Sankt Luzisteig to Malans and further over Fadärastein to Seewis.
