Pilgrim walks in Liestal

First stage of the pilgrimage following the footsteps of Bruder Klaus from Liestal to Ranft: first to the Bruder Klaus Bench (a memorial place for his visionary experience near Liestal), then to the old church in Lausen, which was brand new in 1467, and from there roughly following the Ergolz to Sissach and then along the railway worker's path (which surely did not exist back then but today provides a very walker-friendly connection towards lower Hauenstein) to Rümlingen. 15.3 km, of which 6.8 unavoidable on asphalt, 271m ascent, 126m descent = 18 performance kilometers = 4h30' If the stage is too short for you, you can extend to Läufelfingen, but that is 4.7 km more with +218-102 elevation meters = 7.2 performance kilometers = +2h Next stage: Rümlingen - Aarburg

From the Bruder Klaus Church in Liestal to the town church and from there almost in a straight line to the path along the Ergolz, over the 2nd pedestrian bridge over the highway and Ergolz. At the staircase settlement, go up the stairs to Sonnmattweg, right and then on the forest edge path to the hill where we find the little bench that the Catholic Workers' Movement erected in memory of the 'Liestal experience' of Bruder Klaus. From there to the old Gedit explosives factory and to St. Niklaus (of Mira) Church in Lausen.

Start at the Bruder Klaus Church Liestal, through the Stedtli and Rosenstrasse, Uferstrasse, Heidenlochstrasse, along the forest up to the bench and down through the forest to Lausen to the St. Nikolaus Church.
