Der Jakobsweg Weststeiermark wurde am 25. Juli 2010 eröffnet und gliedert sich in acht Etappen. Diese wurden so gewählt, dass sie für durchschnittliche Wanderer zu bewältigen sind. An jedem Etappenende sind Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Besonders sportliche Pilger werden wahrscheinlich ein größeres Tagespensum schaffen, bei Schlechtwetter oder Besichtigungen werden die Kilometerleistungen geringer ausfallen. Der Weg führt zum größten Teil über bestehende Wander- und Wallfahrerrouten sowie teilweise über asphaltierte Gemeinde- und Landesstraßen.

The Rome Way / Cammino di Roma
The South Austrian way to Rome leads from Styria to Klagenfurt in Carinthia, Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, and further to Tarvisio in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
From here, the route goes through San Daniele, San Vito al Tagliamento, Treviso to Padua to the Basilica of Saint Anthony.
Via the Anthony Way / Cammino di Sant'Antonio it goes through Rovigo to Ferrara in the Emilia-Romagna region to the Anthony hermitage near Dovadola. From here, one follows the Francis Way / Cammino di Assisi, encountering places where Saint Francis lived and worked, from the Tuscan monastery La Verna through the towns of Gubbio and Assisi to the Franciscan monasteries near Rieti. In the last 100 km, one pilgrimages along the Via di Roma through Monterotondo to St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
