Der Anschlussweg zum Weststeirischen Jakobsweg wurde am 26. Juli, dem Jakobustag im Jahr 2012, eröffnet. Er bringt uns auf der ersten Etappe bis zum Gleinalm-Schutzhaus. Dort können wir übernachten. Diese zweite Etappe führt uns von der Gleinalm ausgehend über die Sommerweiden der Lipizzaner-Jungstuten auf der Brentl bis nach Geistthal, wo der Anschlussweg direkt in den Weststeirischen Jakobsweg einmündet.
