From the fortified church or the Hauser inn in Greutschach/Krčanje, the pilgrimage route first descends into the Wölfnitzgraben and then follows the stream upwards along a forest road up to Wölfnitz and later to St. Leonhard an der Saualpe. Later, you can take a detour and a diversion to the “Gspitzten Kreuz” or walk along the ridge to Pölling. By now you have crossed almost all the foothills of the Saualpe and can now descend via the Burgstall into the town of St. Andrä, the former bishop's residence of Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek. Note: for large parts, you follow the “Marienpilgerweg” in the opposite direction (exception: about 5 km before Pölling or at the G'spitzten Kreuz)
