Pilgrim trails in Chavanay

The Via Gebennensis is the continuation of the Swiss Way of St. James and runs from Geneva to Le Puy-en-Velay.

The Via Gebennensis connects the Swiss pilgrimage routes from Geneva with the Via Podiensis, which begins in Le Puy-en-Velay and from there heads westwards to the Pyrenees.

Starting early helps when it's as hot as it is today—luckily, there's plenty of shade along the way

Unglaublich lang und heiß. Der Weg geht über Kieselsteine und am Ende fast nur noch Asphalt. Am Abend bin ich völlig fertig. Es ist Sonntag. Meine Füße sind kaputt. Nichts geht mehr und ich muss das Taxi nehmen. Mein Freund geht alleine. In der privaten Unterkunft bei einem Rentnerehepaar treffen wir eine deutsche Pilgerin, der wir bis Le Puy immer wieder begegnen

Die Via Gebennensis verbindet die schweizerischen Jakobswege ab Genf mit der Via Podiensis, die in Le Puy-en-Velay beginnt und von dort aus westwärts zu den Pyrenäen führt.
