Pilgrim trails in Assieu

The Via Gebennensis is the continuation of the Swiss Way of St. James and runs from Geneva to Le Puy-en-Velay.

The Via Gebennensis connects the Swiss pilgrims' routes from Geneva with the Via Podiensis, which begins in Le Puy-en-Velay and leads westwards to the Pyrenees.

Starting early helps when it's as hot as it is today—luckily, there's plenty of shade along the way

Everything was fine; the detour from the GR 65 before Assieu provided significantly more shade, which made walking easier.

Die Via Gebennensis verbindet die schweizerischen Jakobswege ab Genf mit der Via Podiensis, die in Le Puy-en-Velay beginnt und von dort aus westwärts zu den Pyrenäen führt.
