Group Activity: Fun on Wheels

• In the morning, take the handcar from Staudernheim to Meisenheim. Afterward, you can plan the return trip to Staudernheim starting at 1:00 p.m. The handcars must be returned to Staudernheim by 6:00 p.m. at the latest.
• During a short, self-guided tour of Meisenheim, you’ll immerse yourself in the eventful history of this small town on the Glan River and discover the typical features of a late-medieval settlement: romantic alleyways with picturesque half-timbered houses, the late-Gothic castle church, and much more. A regional snack awaits you in Meisenheim to refuel before the handcar tour heads back to Staudernheim.
• Following the handcar tour, you’ll make your own way to and from the wine village of Kirschroth.
• At 3:00 p.m., after a small sparkling wine reception in the courtyard of the Bauer Wine & Sparkling Wine Estate in Kirschroth, it’s off to the vineyards by tractor and harvest wagon. During the drive through the vineyard’s wine-growing areas, you’ll taste seven wines right where they were grown. Rolls, cake, grape juice, and mineral water are provided.
• After about 2 hours, you’ll be back in the wine village of Kirschroth. Wine now flows from the Riesling fountain instead of water. Here, you can enjoy one more glass of wine to your heart’s content to round off the day.
