Detour between Grödel and Moritz

The Saxony State Dam Authority has started work on upgrading the flood protection dyke between Grödel and Moritz (district of Meißen). Due to this construction work, the right-hand Elbe cycle path will be diverted in this area. The Grödeler Weg will also be closed during the construction period.

The construction work is expected to last until 31.12.2026 and is aimed at improving flood safety. We ask for your understanding for any inconvenience this may cause.

Detour coming from Meißen: Leave the Elbe cycle path after the rose garden in Grödel and follow the raft canal route to Glaubitz on the right. There, turn left onto the S 88/Nünchritzer Straße and immediately turn left again towards Halbe Hufe and Moritz. Via Dorfstraße, past the Hotel Moritz on the right, you come directly back to the original route of the Elbe cycle path.

Detour coming from Riesa/Zeithain: Turn left before Hotel Moritz and then follow Dorfstraße in Moritz to Halbe Hufe and Glaubitz on the right. In Glaubitz, turn right onto the S 88/Nünchritzer Straße and immediately turn right again onto Straße am Floßkanal. Follow the raft canal route straight on to Grödel and then turn left again onto the original Elbe cycle path.
