Nature trails in Dro

The route connects the ancient Roman bridge of Ceniga with the bridge of the nearby town of Dro and allows you to cross a fascinating landscape that feels ancient, made of dry stone walls, dirt roads, olive groves, and vineyards.

This route offers visitors the opportunity to learn about a piece of the history of the development of the hydroelectric industry in Trentino, through the origins and transformations of the Fies power plant. All this takes place within a striking landscape, the Marocche di Dro, the largest landslide in the Alpine arc, which today appears like a kind of desert with a lunar appearance.

The route climbs along the ridge of Monte Gaggio and overlooks Lake Cavedine, passing through a forest of hornbeams, ashes, and sessile oaks resting on the accumulation of boulders of the Marocche, the oldest of the landslides, a unique example in the Alps.
