This beautiful mountain hike starts at the free parking lot near Brunate. Warning, the paths leading there are very narrow and very arduous. The entire route is lovely, especially when you arrive at Faro Voltiano. From there you can look down to Lake Como, and the view of the Alps is simply a true dream. You could also go up to Faro Voltiano, but it was closed for me, as was the ticket office. I believe the entrance fee to go up is 2 euros per person. (However, I am not sure if this amount is still current.) Up to Faro Voltiano, the path on cobblestones is easy to walk on. When going down from the chapel, these are typical mountain hiking trails, not difficult, but you always need good coordination and surefootedness.
