In my opinion a nice tour, where it goes up and down again and again. For my part, I once again discovered many beautiful corners of my chosen home that I had not seen before. You are rewarded with a fabulous view from the Luisenturm on the Atzelberg near Ruppertshain. The view ranges from the Großer Feldberg over the Frankfurt skyline to the Odenwald and on to Rheinhessen, Mainz, and the Rhein-Taunus ridge. Anyone who likes can, as a recommendation, make a detour to Ruppertshain to the "Merlin," a very nice terrace with a large and very good selection of food, from Italian to Indian to German cuisine. I can recommend it all. As an alternative, next time I would drive through the village of Schlossborn and then follow the valley along the Weiherbach to Glashütten, so you save the stretch along the federal road B8. Or, from Ruppertshein, parallel to L3369 to the Naturfreundehaus Billtalhöhe, certainly also an alternative for getting drinks. In my opinion, the route was very varied, from forest paths to narrow trails to the trail along the Limes to the Hasenmühle. In short, I found it very nice; I find it hard to rate in the categories landscape, technique, and experience. Since I am certainly not a huge long-distance rider, I rated the fitness level with four points; some might laugh about that, others might find it too little. The landscape, yes, I really like it here; what can I say, we have chosen a beautiful spot to live in, so at least a 5. The experience, for me, it was a successful Saturday morning, a usefully spent time, some sport, fresh air, and seeing a lot, so also 4 points.

From Eppstein, the route first goes uphill through the forest to Eppenhain. Those who wish can make a short detour to Atzelberg with its observation tower (not part of this route). From Eppenhain, the path first leads through meadows, then through the forest towards the Naturfreundehaus. From there, follow the path towards Feldberg, cross the B8, and then follow a small root trail that runs parallel to the road to the guesthouse "Rotes Kreuz". At Rotes Kreuz, cross the road again and follow the path towards the Roman fort. At the Roman fort, turn left onto a small path that leads past the Weil spring up to the Großer Feldberg. The return route goes via Fuchstanz, Königstein, and Schneidhain back to Fischbach. From there, it goes uphill once again over the Staufen back to Eppstein, passing Eppstein's "Kaisertempel".
