The E1 now slowly leaves the sleepy Duchy of Lauenburg and gradually reaches the catchment area of Hamburg. Depending on the wind direction, the motorway is more or less audible, but never really disturbing. Much of the route goes through fields. Occasionally, a small village must be crossed.
