Im Winter ist es mit dem Skilift und im Sommer zu Fuss in 15 Minuten ab Bergstation Biel - Kinzig oder in 45 Minuten ab Bergstation Brügg-Ruogig erreichbar. Es liegt direkt am neliebten Schächentaler Höhenweg und am historischen Suworowweg. Es bietet 70 Schlafplätze unterteilt in 5 Massenlager, geschlechtergetrennte Toiletten- und Waschanlagen mit Dusche und eine gut bürgerliche Küche für das leibliche Wohl.
