Fluhalp

Hiking past small alpine lakes with the Matterhorn a constant backdrop, you’ll reach the historic inn at Fluhalp, a simple mountain inn with private rooms and 5-star views. The Berghaus Fluhalp, at 8500 ft above sea level, sits at the upper end of a long valley below the Rothorn mountain and Gornergrat ridge. They have simple, cozy rooms with shared bathroom and shower down the hall.  All bedding and towels are provided.

For a simple inn, Fluhalp has a surprisingly ambitious kitchen with great meals and an excellent wine list.  It is a very popular day-hikers stop, but it becomes delightfully serene at night.
