Spahotel Casino

Kasinonsaari islands celebrated a vibrant international spa life at the turn of the 20th century. Wealthy guests arrived in the summer from St. Petersburg, among other places. They stayed in the villas that were built on the islands, or in the homes of the city’s inhabitants, and went to the spa for treatments. In the spa’s brochures, the islands were named th Happy islands, because entertainment and socializing were an important part of the spa life. The spa was one of the first ones in Finland, and in 1898, a restaurant Kasino was built next to it.

Today, guests are served by a spa, a restaurant and a wide range of wellness and program services. Savonlinnasali Hall is located in the same courtyard and hosts concerts, theatre performances and various events. The Savonlinna city centre is right next door.

In the autumn, you can enjoy the wonderful autumn colours, whereas in the spring, the sun will attract the famous Saimaa ringed seal to the rocks on the outskirts of the hotel.
