The Hotel Bahnhof Giswil is nestled in the wonderful mountain landscape of Obwalden. The managers of the Hotel Bahnhof Giswil are passionate mountain bikers and advise guests and provide information about possible mountain bike adventures in the region.
It is the perfect hotel for people who love the outdoors and the mountains. In winter, as well as in summer, there are numerous activities to do in the area:
Ski touring, skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hikes can all be done in the cooler seasons.
In spring, summer and fall, you can go biking, hiking, cycling, swimming and trail running to your heart's content.
As a very special offer, we have a bike course, the Kids Bike Village and a pump track in the village. For rainy days, there is even an indoor bike park Wheelpark Sarnen nearby.

Location
The Hotel Bahnhof Giswil is centrally located in the heart of Obwalden, right next to the train station and therefore ideally connected to public transport. The impressive mountain and lake landscape around Lake Sarnen is just a few steps away and is ideal for biking and hiking tours of all levels of difficulty. Thanks to its location, the hotel is the perfect starting point for active days in the great outdoors as well as for excursions into Central Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland.

The 8 rooms with a total of 27 beds are quietly situated by a small stream and offer a wonderful view of the nearby mountains.

The area surrounding the Hotel Bahnhof Giswil boasts a picturesque landscape: Lake Sarnen is just a short distance away, framed by gentle hills and impressive mountains such as the Giswilerstock, which give the valley a unique panorama. The popular Schacherseppli adventure trail, an informative circular hiking trail in honor of folk musician Ruedi Rymann, starts directly from the train station and is ideal for families and nature enthusiasts. The nearby Mörlialp, a varied summer and skiing area, and the panoramic road over the Glaubenbielen Pass, which offers spectacular views and direct access to the high mountains, are ideal for alpine excursions

The hotel is located directly at Giswil train station and is therefore easily accessible by the Zentralbahn. Direct trains run every hour from Lucerne to Giswil, the journey takes around 45 minutes. You get off the train directly in front of the hotel entrance.
