A warm welcome to the Hotel Alte Werft – where history comes to life!

The Alte Werft hotel was opened at the beginning of 1995 in the mechanical engineering hall where the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Emsland, manufactured compressors from 1870 until the company moved in 1975. The overhead crane with its huge hook rests under the glass roof in a trendy peppermint paint job. Models of Meyer ships decorate the walls. Mighty punching and drilling machines dominate the foyer and the Schnürboden restaurant. These relics of the industrial age give our hotel an unmistakable character. A fascinating blend of past and modern awaits you.
