Perhaps the high end hotel andf function hall in the Jiu Valley, Great views and a state of the art chair-lift going up to Parang ski area--unfortunately it runs erratically. Food and service great; includes spas, saunas, and often little shetland ponies. From their posting:

"Laid-back rooms in an alpine-style hotel offering a restaurant & a spa, plus free breakfast." Possibly the most elegant place in the Jiu Valley.
