Berghaus Alpiglen has a fantastic position looking out at Grindelwald, the Wetterhorn, and the Eiger looming high above. The train from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg makes a stop here. Alpiglen mountain inn has 7 rooms and a couple small dorms, and staying here is always treat, quiet and peaceful.
Alpiglen is also a popular mountain restaurant. It's at the bottom end of the Eiger trail, and is a great stopping point for hikers who have hiked down from Kleine Scheidegg or Eigergletscher. Their specialty is "Käseschnitte", a local specialty of bread smothered with mustard, white wine and lots and lots of cheese. But they have many dishes and drinks, both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to relax after a hike while you wait for the train to Grindelwald.
