The "Aquila Nera" hotel was also famous for the excellent wine that was served in its inn. With the excuse of letting the horses rest, postilions and travelers sat in the cool courtyard of the hotel where they could refresh their spirits by sipping fresh white wine from the cellar, generously served by the innkeeper.
