Accommodation at the start of High Scardus Trail stage 16 Modrič - Jablanica

ATTENTION: The accommodation is located at the starting point of the High Scardus Trail stage 16, but this is not identical with the end point of stage 14, therefore a shuttle from Bitushe (end of stage 14) to Modrič is necessary.

A very nice accommodation, whereby a traditional farm house has been renovated with great attention to detail and equipped with three large apartments. Each apartment has a hot shower, WIFI and possibilities for charging. Furthermore there is a very nice dining area and a dedicated breakfast place in the garden. The cottage has a total capacity of 15 people. The host is very nice and speaks good English. He lives in Skopje but stays in Modric during the hiking season. He does not cook, but organizes food from peasant women in the valley.

Directions

From the end of the High Scardus Trail stage 14 in Bitushe, descend the small mountain road until you reach a slightly larger road. Turn right here, pass through the village of Rostushe and continue down into the main valley to the major road R1202 from Lake Mavrovo towards Debar and Ohrid. Turn right here until you reach Debar. In Debar, turn left onto the R1201 and follow the road south (towards Ohird) along the western shore of the long reservoir. 24.5 km after the turnoff in Debar, a small road to Modrič branches off to the right. At a fork in the road, keep left and you will soon reach the deserted little village of Modrič. Accommodation is at the end of the road at the top of the village.
