Hauenstein is surrounded by sandstone cliffs and is ideal for exploring the Palatinate Forest - whether hiking, cycling or simply enjoying nature. The premium hiking trail "Hauensteiner Schusterpfad" can be reached in 5 minutes.

Travelling by car:
Coming from the B10 from Landau or Pirmasens, take the Hauenstein exit. Continue for approx. 500 metres towards the centre of the village and take the 2nd road on the left (Prälat-Sommer-Straße) after the rocky outcrop. Continue straight ahead. After approx. 800 metres, turn right into Am Sonnenhang and immediately take the 1st road on the left, Am Bildstöckel. The Sonnenhang holiday home is in front of you.
Travelling by train:
Coming from Pirmasens or Landau, get off at the Hauenstein Mitte hiking railway station. Walk straight ahead up the road to the end. Then keep left, after approx. 200 metres turn right into the street Am Bildstöckel and immediately turn left into the 1st street Am Bildstöckel. The Sonnenhang holiday home is in front of you.
