Hillscheid is an ideal starting point for hikes in the Westerwald with well marked hiking trails through our "Westerwald-Verein" as well as for excursions to nearby Koblenz (approx. 15 km) and to Bad ems (12 km) and Nassau an der Lahn or the wine villages on the Moselle.
Discounted tickets for the new Bad Ems thermal spa are available from the landlord.
It is 6 km to Vallendar to the boat dock on the Rhine. On the occasion of the Federal Horticultural Show 2011 in Koblenz, the cable car across the Rhine was built: from the Koblenz "German Corner" to the Ehrenbreitstein fortress.
The "Kannenbäckerland" around Hillscheid and Höhr-Grenzhausen with its ceramics museum not only offers a lot of interesting sights for those interested in ceramics, the history of the Limes also comes to life again on the hiking trails past the Limes Tower and Limes Castle.
For canoeists and water hikers, the Lahn offers the ideal water sport for the whole family.
