Origin of the Holiday Factory...

At the end of 2014, we bought an old house in Idar-Oberstein at the foot of the castle hill. It was built in the early 1900s and was the Bijouterie and chain factory of the company August Loch & Philipp Sohn until the 1960s. The premises span 360 m² and were once used not only for living spaces but also for chain and jewelry production, traces of which can be found throughout the house. The house has a very special charm due to its quirky and winding rooms, which has greatly inspired us. During the renovation, we tried to bring the old furniture and items we found in the house back to life...

Location...

In a central location, we offer 2 holiday apartments in our Holiday Factory with accommodation for a maximum of 6 people. The apartments are located on the sunny side of the castle hill, just 1 km from the Felsenkirche and the castle, and offer a beautiful view over the Oberstein district. Whether on foot, by bicycle or in your own car, from here you can conveniently start your planned excursions to the city or explore numerous hiking trails in the nearby Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Lidl, banks, restaurants, ice cream parlors, bus stops, and the train station are just a few minutes' walk away.
