Weingut Özelt

The Özelt Winery, with its own wine tavern and guest rooms, is located in the heart of the historic town center of Spitz an der Donau in the Wachau region. Wine has been produced within these walls for more than 300 years, and the estate has been family-owned since 1865.

As a member of Vinea Wachau, we place a strong emphasis on the origin of our wines and the traditional art of winemaking in the Wachau region. Our sustainably managed vineyards are located primarily in the municipality of Spitz as well as in Weißenkirchen and are spread across seven different sites with varying soil and microclimate conditions.

Our winery primarily produces Grüne Veltliner and Riesling, but also Chardonnay, Frühroter Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, and Zweigelt, as well as our Rosé Frizzante. Our winery holds the “Nachhaltig Austria” seal of quality, and 100% of our grapes are harvested by hand.

During our tasting hours, guests can enjoy our Wachau wines at our on-site wine tavern. We serve classic and creative cold Heurigen specialties to accompany them.

If you’d like to enjoy the Wachau for a longer stay, you can spend the night right here at our winery. Our four double rooms, rated 4 Flowers, are located on the first floor of our winemaker’s house. Thanks to its central location in Spitz, our house is a great starting point for hikes, bike tours, and excursions throughout the Wachau.
