Explore your passion for ski mountaineering with the new "Stelvio Natural Skimo Trail" trail collection on Valtellina Outdoor!
This project, launched in collaboration with local communities and lift companies, transforms Bormio into a true destination for ski mountaineers.
Bormio is the cradle of ski mountaineering, a fast-growing winter sport among amateurs and professionals. Starting in 2026, ski mountaineering will be an Olympic discipline for the first time, and the competitions will be held in Bormio itself. To celebrate this, new managed routes have been developed to provide a safe and organized experience.
The collection offers several routes for all levels, from beginner to expert:
Bormio 2,000 - La Rocca: An ideal training trail that winds through the woods, perfect for gathering with friends and family on Bormio's ski slopes.
Forte di Oga - Malga San Colombano: Located in the ski mountaineering paradise of Valdisotto, this route offers breathtaking views of the Forni Valley and Gran Zebrù.
Santa Caterina - Plaghera: A very popular route in Valfurva that goes through a forest and reaches 2,000 meters, offering experts the option of continuing to Sunny Valley or Sobretta.
Rasin Isolaccia - Conca Bianca: A new route in Valdidentro, suitable for everyone, starting in Rasin and offering a unique experience with downhill on the slopes.
All routes have been defined with attention to detail and thanks to the support of external experts and local realities. The goal is to provide a high-quality infrastructure for ski mountaineering that can be a national role model. The descent on all trails takes place on the area's groomed trails, and a season or daily ticket is required to use them.
