Straßburg is located in the Gurktal valley in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia. The municipality covers around 60 km² and has around 2,500 inhabitants. The region is characterized by rolling hills and an idyllic natural landscape at an altitude of around 650 metres.
The townscape is dominated by the historic Strasbourg Castle, a medieval fortress that is one of the most important sights in the area. The castle and the charming town center reflect the municipality's long history.
Strasbourg is characterized by agriculture, with a focus on livestock farming and arable farming. Tourism also plays an important role, particularly through hiking and cycling trails as well as cultural events that keep village life lively.
The municipality offers a good infrastructure with schools, clubs and local suppliers and attaches great importance to preserving regional traditions and customs.
