Val Müstair (also known as Münstertal) lies between Vinschgau, the Ofen Pass and the Umbrail and Stilfserjoch passes in the south and, with the 2763 metre-high Piz Chavalatsch, marks the easternmost tip of the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Travellers crossing the Alps are particularly familiar with the Val Mora region. The high valley awaits behind the Pass da Costainas and is one of the classic Transalp passages.
