ALPIN 10/26: Brenta Via Ferrata, Berchtesgaden Summit Trail

Fall is mountain season: The new ALPIN 10/2026 takes you high up to the spectacular via ferratas of the Brenta, on a four-day trek around Königssee, and into the golden larch forests of the Upper Engadine. We visit the completely renovated Sesvenna Hut in South Tyrol, hike through the Lammertal Valley in Salzburg with views of the Dachstein, and test two new via ferratas near Seefeld. We also speak with free-solo icon Alex Honnold about risk, fear, and life without a safety line. In the service section: ten hiking boots for multi-day tours put to the test in the extensive ALPIN test, first aid in the mountains, hiking socks in the product review, and a personal trial with secondhand outdoor clothing.
