Creating and Managing Collections

Our collections help you compile and sort your favorite content. They are a way of making sure you always have access to the items you're working on or need for planning your trips. You can publish your collections within your profile for the use of other Community members or send private links to your friends and family.

Create your own collection

Your profile already comes with two preset collections: "Previously completed" and "Want to do." They help you plan and reflect on your outdoor adventures.

Here's how to create a shareable collection in just a few steps:

Go to "Collections" in your profile, then click "New collection" in the top right.
Add a title, a cover photo, and a short description (800 characters max).
Open a route, point of interest, accomodation, or event, and add it to your collection using the "Bookmark" feature.

Tip: An eye-catching cover photo and a punchy description will make people want to follow your collection!

Share your collection

Once you've filled your collection, there are two ways to share it with others:

Public for the community: Set the visibility to "Public." Your collection will then show up in the feeds, where anyone on Outdooractive can discover it and give it a star.
Private with friends: Use the private link to share your collection with specific people, even if it isn't published. Just copy the link and send it.

Note: Your collection needs to include at least one item before you can publish it.

Collections vs. Clipboard

When you save a route, you decide where it ends up:

Collections are your tool for organizing and sharing. You can create as many as you like, give them a title, cover photo, and description, and set them to public or private.
Bookmarks, on the other hand, are your private stash — just for you, and not shareable.

So when it comes to sharing, a collection is always your best friend.

Discover other people's collections

Get inspired for your next adventure! Use the menu in the top-left corner to navigate from "Inspiration" to "Collections":

Good to know

Your bookmarks are always private and can't be published.
The preset collections "Previously completed" and "Want to do" can't be deleted.
You need at least one item in a collection before you can publish it.
Even a private collection can be shared with specific friends — just use the private link.
