Waldlehrwerkstatt Hermeskeil

The forest education workshop in the recreation area "Pflanzgarten" is the central meeting point for the environmental education offers in the Hermeskeiler city forest. In addition to the forest education workshop, the Pflanzgarten recreation area also has a forest playground, a barbecue area with a pavilion, and the Hermeskeil nature discovery trail. The forest parking lot is the starting point of several hiking and biking trails, for example to the Primstalsperre, to the Forstelbachtal with its beaver castles, the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig or to various Roman-Celtic sites. The forest educational workshop has a covered work area where handicraft activities, training or follow-up of excursions can take place. The work area is also a good alternative for the Hermeskeil nature trail in bad weather, where you can use the educational material stored in the forest workshop. The "nature discovery trolley" is located in the forest workshop, which is available for activities on the nature discovery trail and can be equipped according to the respective need. The barrier-free toilet of the forest education workshop is available free of charge during environmental education activities in the Hermeskeil city forest.
