The shortest approach to Schmidt Zabierow Hut starts in the Lofer high valley.
This hut approach is comparatively less frequented.
You have to earn the access over the Wehrgrubenjoch with almost 1400 meters of altitude gain first.
With just under 1600 meters of elevation gain, the ascent from Waidring is the most strenuous of all hut approaches to the Schmidt Zabierow Hut.
