The Alm is located directly on the Tappenkarsee, the largest mountain lake in the Niedere Tauern. Both the Tappenkarsee and the Alm are very popular hiking destinations in the Radstädter Tauern. The lake, which may be called the largest mountain lake in the Niedere Tauern, can be reached the quickest from the Kleinarltal. The starting point is the Schwabalm south of the Jägersee. The hiking car park can be reached from Jägersee via a toll road. From there we are separated by a 1 ¾ hour walk from the Alm.

Directions
Motorway Munich - Salzburg to the border crossing and in Austria follow the A10 keeping right in the direction of Villach. Leave the autobahn at the St. Johann im Pongau exit and take the 311 federal road to St. Johann. At the level of St. Johann im Pongau, leave the federal road in the direction of Wagrain (B 163) and drive on federal road 163 through St. Johann and on to Wagrain. In the center of Wagrain turn right towards Kleinarl via Kleinarl to Jägersee. From Jägersee follow the toll road to the hiking car park at the Schwabalm. Your hike starts right at the Schwabalm.Parking
