Die mit 924 ü. NN höchst gelegene Hütte am Rennsteig überzeugt mit gutbürgerlicher, regionaler Küche und bewirtschafteter Sonnenterrasse im Sommer. Auch Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten werden Wanderern, Bikern oder Skiläufern geboten. Das Haus liegt unweit der Schneekopfspitze, an welcher sich Parkplätze und eine Bushaltestelle befinden. Tipp: Unweit der Suhler Hütte beginnt die Rodelstrecke am Adler, mit 1000 m Länge eine der längsten Rodel-Abfahrten des Freistaates mitten durch den herrlich verschneiten Thüringer Wald.
