Hier bekommt man den ersten Eindruck von Hochgebirge. An der Baumgrenze an der Nordseite des Hochstaufens gelegen.

Vom Wanderausgangspunkt Adlgaß in Inzell über den Bergwald Erlebnispfad bis zum Frillensee. Der idyllisch gelegene See lädt zu einer ersten Rast ein. Vom Almgarten hat man einen schönen Blick auf die impossante Felsformation des Hochstaufen-Massivs.
