The Valfredda Stage Post is located in the valley of the same name at an elevation of 2,255 m and can be reached in a couple of hours of easy walking starting from the Mouchecuite locality upstream from the hamlet of Rochemolles.
The stage place can accommodate up to 12 people and is equipped with: - a small kitchenette complete with all utensils for independent meal preparation; - wood stove; - table and chairs; - bathroom with shower; - beds with blankets. There is no manager of the stopover site as is the case in the shelters.
The hiker who wishes to stay at the staging post must make prior purchase of food items. Near the stage post is the Valfredda alpine pasture where fresh milk, cheese and butter can be purchased. It is, however, present drinking water.
The Valfredda stage post is the support point for crossings to the Galambra Pass and the Levi Molinari Refuge.
