Die Saalalm, auf 1447 m Höhe im naturbelassenen Saalbach-Hinterglemmer Talschluss gelegen, stellt ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Alt und Jung dar. Sie ist bereits über 200 Jahre alt und wurde im Jahr 1988 renoviert.
Die Saalalm ist über eine leichte Wanderung von der Lindlingalm aus in einer halben Stunde zu erreichen. Ein besonderer Genuss sind die kulinarischen Highlights – hier kann man z.B. Kasnockn, Kaiserschmarrn oder Brettljause verzehren. Mit etwas Glück spielen sogar die Hüttenwirte Anita und Gottfried auf.

Die Bushaltestelle Mitterlengau (Linie 680 Zell am See – Hinterglemm) befindet sich nur wenige hundert Meter vom Bahnhof des Talschlusszuges entfernt. Dieser fährt jedoch nur während der Sommermonate.
