Si trova nel Comune di Miane lungo la Dorsale Visentìn-Cesèn.
Si trova su un'insellatura delle dorsale principale poco sotto il Monte Cimòn in posizione dominante i colli trevigiani ed in vista delle Dolomiti. È stato costruito dal Gruppo Alpini di Miane negli anni 1973-1977 ed è oggi di proprietà del Comune di Miane. Dal Rifugio partono numerosi sentieri e ben segnalati, che si snodano in ambienti montani di suggestiva bellezza, permettendo al visitatore di spaziare dalla laguna Veneta alle Dolomiti. È dotato di 24 posti letto e di un ricovero sempre aperto.
Ha un comodo e spazioso piazzale per parcheggiare. Rimane aperto tutto l’anno con le strade d’accesso che nel periodo invernale sono sempre aperte. C’è anche una posta per cavalli per coloro che amano il trekking a cavallo.

Da Valdobbiadene per rotabile a Pianezze, Malga Budoi e poi al rifugio (18 km).
Da Combai per rotabile attraverso il bosco del Madean, Case Colliè e malga Budoi e poi al rifugio (15 km) oppure tramite sentiero CAI 922.
Da Miane – Madonna del Carmine per carrareccia, sentiero 989 a Forcella Mattiola e poi ancora su carrareccia da Praderadego.
Da Cordellon – parcheggio Case Savaris, 625 m per carrareccia, poi sentiero fino a Forcella Mattiola ed infine ancora su carrareccia da Praderadego.
