The Guido Rey Refuge is nestled in the forest at nearly 1,800 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Grand Hoche massif.
The Guido Rey Refuge was built in 1938 as a military building. Starting in the 1950s, it passed to CAI UGET of Turin, which began using it as a refuge. It is named after Guido Rey, mountaineer, writer and photographer, dubbed by many as the "Poet of the Mountain."
The ambiance is rustic, familiar and provides for guests to feel at ease.
The facility has 24 beds in comfortable 2- or 3-person rooms; bathrooms are shared on the floor.

Directions
From Beaulard head toward the hamlet of Chateau Beaulard. Before the village turn right and park in the clearings after the hairpin bend. Trail No. 702a begins a little further on the right. Past the meadows above the hamlet, you will plunge into the beautiful coniferous forest passing the Chapels of St. Sunday and St. Anne. Arriving near the gorge of the Rio Champeyron, cross it on a wooden footbridge; continue on the other side arriving to intersect the dirt road after a short flat section. Continue along the path until it finally joins the road, which turns right and leads in a short time to the hut.
Reaching Via Pleinet in Beaulard, take the dirt road with directions to Rifugio Guido Rey and follow it to the refuge.
