Refugio guardado con servicio de comida y bebida, duchas, WC, calefacción central, colchones y mantas. Cuando no está guardado, el refugio está cerrado. Como parte libre, se abre el refugio de La Centraleta, situado a aproximadamente un kilómetro y equipado con colchones y mantas para 10 personas, radio de emergencia y leña.
Para pernoctar en el refugio es necesario reservar previamente. El acceso a pie desde la Palanca de la Molina dura aproximadamente 3 horas.
El Refugi Estany Llong forma parte de la ruta “Carros de Foc”, la popular travesía de montaña circular que une los nueve refugios del parque natural.
