The Refuge de la Dent Parrachée is located at 2520 m above Aussois in the Vanoise National Park. As an FFCAM hut, it is the starting point for the Dent Parrachée and ski tours.
The Refuge de la Dent Parrachée is an FFCAM hut above Aussois in the Vanoise and stands at 2520 m with a view of the Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval reservoirs. It is managed depending on the season; the months of June to September are usually suitable for hikes, for ski and spring tours often at the end of February to April, outside of this period partly on request or in unmanaged operation. Overnight stays and meals are offered during the managed period; according to the price list, breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch are available. The normal ascent starts at the parking lot below the Barrage du Plan d'Amont and takes around 2 hours with an ascent of around 440 meters; in winter, the ascent is also possible via the ski lifts at the Aussois station, depending on operation, and then you can reach the refuge by skiing down. The refuge is an important base for climbing the Dent Parrachée as well as for crossings and stages in the national park. The weather, avalanche situation, trail conditions and any closures should always be checked on a daily basis. The so-called Chaloin building was built in 1970 and renovated and extended between 2017 and 2019; it is owned and operated by the Club Alpin Français Chambéry within the FFCAM.
