Höchstgelegenes Gasthaus in Thüringen mit heimischer Küche.

Die Neue Gehlberger Hütte befindet sich auf dem 978 m hohen Schneekopf im Thüringer Wald. Der Rennsteig – historischer Kamm- und Grenzweg sowie ältester Weitwanderweg in Deutschland – befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Schneekopf. Die Hütte ist die höchstgelegene, bewirtschaftete Bergbaude und Wanderherberge Thüringens und ein ideales Ziel für Wanderer, Radfahrer und Skifahrer, sowie Rennsteig-Wanderer und Rennsteig-Radwanderer (Bett+Bike). Die Wanderherberge ist mit Mehrbettzimmern und einem Aufenthaltsraum sowie modernen Sanitäranlagen ausgestattet. Die Reservierung erfolgt nach Betten (nicht nach Zimmern!). Für Wandergruppen oder rustikale Feierlichkeiten mit Übernachtungswunsch ist das Haus auf dem Berg eine tolle Option um laue Sommernächte zu genießen oder im Winter ereignisreiche Ausflüge und Tage am Kaminfeuer revue passieren zu lassen. Für angemeldete Gruppen ist nach Absprache Dinner- und Frühstücksverpflegung möglich. Die Wanderherberge verfügt über drei Mehrbettzimmer mit insgesamt 19 Betten. Weitere Hinweise: Anreise bis 17 Uhr Ein Hüttenschlafsack ist Pflicht. Ausleihgebühr pro Stück: 4,50 EUR Eine Stirnlampe/Taschenlampe ist ebenfalls von Vorteil Fahrrad- und Skiunterstellmöglichkeit vorhanden keine Selbstversorgerhütte Frühstück kann zugebucht werden: Frühstückszeiten sind von 8.30 Uhr bis 10.00 Uhr Alternativen für Abendessen nach 17 Uhr: Vorbestellung einer Brotzeit oder selbst grillen (Grillgut und Utensilien über Betreiber bereitgestellt); Getränkeverbrauch ist auf Kommission möglich.
