The rustic hut lies at the foot of the Hundstein at 1,450 m above sea level and rewards you with a wonderful panorama.

From the terrace of the Moosalm you have a panoramic view of the Salzach Valley, the Drei Brüder and the Hohe Tauern. Once refreshed, the Moosalm offers you a variety of possibilities:

For hikers: continue along the steeply rising path until the first fork. From here a path leads to the left to the idyllic and hidden Lake Adam and Lake Eve. Passing the lake, you come to hiking trail no. 444 - left to Bruck or Thumersback, continue on the right over the Moosalmhöhe and past the Ochsenkopf to the Hundstein at 2,117 m.

For mountain bikers: It is also possible to continue from the Moosalm to the Hundstein or to Thumersbach.

Directions

By car: From Zell am See, drive via Gries and turn into the Grieser Graben at the Hohenwarter bakery. Follow the road for approx. 3.5 km to the Brandenau parking area (free of charge, plenty of parking spaces). From there, continue on foot to the hut.

By bike: From the Brandenau parking area, approx. 4 km / 450 vertical meters to the hut. Alternatively, from the Enzianhütte (Zell am See) approx. 8 km / 560 vertical meters.

On foot: From the Brandenau parking area via the forest road or via the Moosalm trail (shorter but more demanding).

By train: Travel to Gries im Pinzgau station, then walk through the Grieser Graben to the Brandenau parking area and continue on to the hut.
