The Raso family has been running this summer-only communal pasture for nearly 100 years, since 1926 with mainly Piedmontese cows that produce milk very rich in casein.
The alpine pasture was a place of shelter for new partisan positions when the April 26, 1944 fire set by the Nazi-Fascists in the hamlets of Troncea and Seytes forced the partisans to move back up the valley. In August '44 Alpe Meys was also abandoned. The partisans left the alpine pasture and headed for the mountains and passes behind them, Col Clapis and Barifreddo. The determination of the partisan forces and the silent resistance of the people against Nazi-Fascist oppression redeemed our valleys, making them one of the places worthy of memory for the conquest of Liberty.
For those who decide to stay overnight at the bivouac in the evening or morning hours, it will be possible to enjoy high alpine landscapes and to observe marmots, chamois, ibexes and eagles. The bivouac can be booked by calling +393319877765 (WhatsApp) or emailing alpemeys@gmail.com.

Bus line ARRIVES from Turin, "Plan traffic circle" stop. From the traffic circle walk along Via Rohrbach and reach first Plan and then Pattemouche, after about 600 m. walk. After the snow basin and the large attestation parking lot, you will come to a bridge crossing the Chisone stream: you can choose to cross the bridge and continue on the valley floor dirt road or take the path on the orographic left.
Directions
The mountain pasture can be reached:
- on foot, along the dirt road at the bottom of the valley, which takes about 2½ hours from Pount daz Itrèi;
- by shuttle with a service run by the Val Troncea Nature Park in the summer months (it is a good idea to make sure the service is active by consulting the following sites: www.parchialpicozie.it and www.pragelatoturismo.it).
Parking
Parking at Pattemouche.
Parking in Laval, continuing from Pattemouche, over the "Pount daz Itrèi" bridge for two more kilometers. Usually this summer parking lot is metered, but it allows you to shorten the route by 2 kilometers.
